The S480 is a high-performance technical trouser designed for work environments where weather protection, road visibility, and internal temperature control are critical. Unlike conventional PVC garments, the S480 incorporates a microporous technical membrane that facilitates sweat wicking while blocking water ingress. It is standard equipment for road crews, infrastructure operators, and external maintenance personnel who require a lightweight, durable garment certified under strict road safety regulations.

Technical Features and Operational Capabilities

• Thermal Management and Breathability (EN 343 3:1): The fabric structure allows water vapor to escape while maintaining a waterproof seal. This prevents internal overheating during physical exertion and prevents cooling due to condensation, keeping the operator dry and thermally stable during extended shifts.
• Industrial Grade Waterproofing: Features heat-sealed seams using high-frequency technology. This configuration ensures that, even under mechanical pressure (e.g., kneeling on wet ground) or persistent rain, water does not penetrate to the inner layer, maintaining Class 3 waterproofing certification.
• 360° Road Visibility (EN ISO 20471): High-luminosity reflective bands are arranged for 360° detection, complying with road safety standards. Their design allows the operator's silhouette to be detected instantly from any angle, a vital factor in preventing incidents with vehicles in active traffic environments.

Safety Warning and Use Limitations

IMPORTANT: These trousers are a high-visibility and weather protection garment. They are NOT flame-retardant, NOT anti-static, and offer NO protection against chemical or thermal hazards. The waterproofness of the fabric depends directly on the condition of the polyurethane (PU) membrane. If the garment becomes contaminated with mud, oil, or chemicals, it must be washed immediately, as residues will clog the pores of the fabric, nullifying its breathability and degrading the reflectivity of the bands.

Maintenance and Care Instructions

• Washing: Machine wash at 40°C maximum. Use mild liquid detergent. DO NOT use fabric softeners, as these destroy the breathable membrane and the hydrophobic finish.
• Drying: Air dry. DO NOT tumble dry in an industrial dryer or oven, as intense heat permanently deforms the PU membrane and sealed seams.
• Ironing: DO NOT IRON. Direct heat contact (iron) instantly melts the PU coating and ruins the waterproof capacity and the integrity of the reflective bands.
• Inspection: Periodically check the integrity of the heat-sealed seams and reflective bands. If the surface of the bands shows cracks or loss of reflective material, the garment loses its Class 1 certification and must be removed from service.
