Portwest Bizweld™ BZ31 Trousers: 100% Cotton Flame-Resistant Fabric, Arc Flash Protection, and High Functionality

The Bizweld™ BZ31 protective trousers have been specifically designed to offer superior defense against the thermal risks inherent in welding. Made from 330g 100% cotton fabric, this personal protective equipment ensures exceptional resistance to direct exposure to flames and molten metal splashes, in addition to providing effective protection against the thermal effects derived from an electric arc, complying with the safety standards required for high-risk industrial environments.

Technical Characteristics and Operational Capabilities

  • Thermal Protection (Flame and Arc Flash): Its high-density cotton fabric acts as a primary barrier against thermal risks, molten metal splashes, and the effects of arc flash.
  • Ergonomics and Mobility: Integrates an elasticated back waist and an ergonomic design that facilitates freedom of movement, optimizing user comfort during long workdays.
  • Structural Resistance and Organization: Robust construction in 330g cotton for demanding environments, complemented by seven pockets (including space for a mobile phone, ruler, and back pockets) that allow for efficient tool organization.

Safety Warning and Limitations of Use

IMPORTANT: The effectiveness of flame-resistant protection depends on the integrity of the fabric. Any contamination of the fabric with grease, oil, or flammable substances can invalidate the protective properties of the garment. The use of these trousers as primary protection is prohibited in environments where total chemical protection or protection against high-voltage electrical risks exceeding those specified in the CE-CAT III certifications is required.

Maintenance and Care Instructions

  • Washing: Wash following the manufacturer's instructions for flame-resistant cotton fabrics. CRITICAL PROHIBITION: Do not use detergents containing bleach, bleaching agents, or peroxides, as they irreversibly degrade the flame-retardant properties of the fabric.
  • Drying: Tumble dry at a moderate temperature or air dry. CRITICAL PROHIBITION: Do not dry directly on intense heat sources or under prolonged exposure to direct solar UV radiation.
  • Ironing: Iron at a low temperature to maintain the shape and properties of the fabric.
  • Inspection: Periodically check for signs of wear, open seams, or thinning of the fabric. If the material loses its density or shows damage, it must be immediately removed from service to ensure user safety.
